The Complementary & Natural Healthcare Council was set up as a voluntary regulator to protect the public and guarantee a set of standards for complemantary therapist to follow.  This should enable the public to choose a complementary therapist with confidence.

The Edinburgh Therapy Academy

The Edinburgh Therapy Academy was founded in 1999 by Judith Craig. Following a long standing career of lecturing in health and fitness and working extensively in the field of Complementary Therapies in Britain and abroad, Judith launched the academy and offered quality programmes of study in a variety of therapies and subjects. Gail Walkingshaw took over as principal of The Edinburgh Therapy Academy in 2009. Gail trained with Judith from 1999 and went on to teach in the school as an associate tutor. The Student Charter and Code of Conduct on this web site offer further information on the ethos and aims of the academy. Due to other commitments Gail Walkingshaw have decided not to run any courses in the foreseeable future.

The Academy of On-Site Massage was established in 1989 and provide comprehensive and quality training for the City & Guilds accredited Seated Acupressure (On Site) Massage Professional Diploma. With an expertise second to none further training courses in On Site Therapies has been developed. The Academy offers courses in: Seated Acupressure (On Site) Massage; Indian Head Massage; Seated Therapeutic Massage and other one day Post Graduate Courses.

Brigitte Nath established the UK Dorm Method Centre in 2008 after she became an Authorised Dorn Method Instructor. She runs workshops around the entire country and has just completed the 50th workshop in the UK. It is Brigitte's intention to set a high standard of Dorn Method training which adhers to principles and foundations observed by the association of 130 or so Authorized German Dorn Method trainers who form a loose controlling body and who can be found at DornFinder.org and who also get together each year at the German Dorn Kongress.

The Grampian School of Massage was founded in 1992 by Maggie Brooks-Carter DO RGN SMTO and Nick Carter DO MBRA FSMTO to be a centre of excellence in the training of all levels of Massage Therapy – a science that has been used throughout time.
